ABRA Asociación de Bodegas de Rioja Alavesa

This was founded in 1988 by Eduardo Gómez and Isabel Bernardo, two young oenologists from families with a great tradition of wine.

They started their venture in a small, traditional winery with big limitations, where they put into practice their knowledge of wine production and care, as a result of not only their studies, but also of the wine tradition of their elders. Nowadays, in their large, modern winery, the wines they obtain are the result of a careful selection of vineyards cultivated in calcareous clayey soil, ochre in colour, very uneven land, with gullies and small mounds which help to obtain an indisputable quality of their wines.
