This winery was founded by Julio Martínez Bujanda in 1976, this way following in a long, solid family tradition in the world of vine-growing.

In 1988, the winery underwent some important changes which lead the company to settle permanently in Rioja Alavesa,but, in 1999, after it was restructured by expanding and modernizing its facilities, it showed its best face yet by adding reserve and crianza wines to its renowned, young, red wine. Its large extension of vineyards cover over sixty hectares located on the gentle slopes of fertile soil at an altitude of between 450 and480m which guarantees high quality tempranillo grapes of which its wines are made. The winery itself is very charming and draws the attention of visitors with its extraordinary cleanliness and organization.
